"Running , jumping and Taekwondo, All of the things to help us grow, At I.P.C."
As our song says, we need to keep fit and exercise if we are to grow strong and healthy. Children naturally run around a lot, you just have to spend time in our playground to see them in action.
Children do a lot less walking now in our modern society, so here at I.P.C. we realise the importance of a regular exercise programme. Taekwondo is one of the activities we strongly encourage. Not only do the children participate but some of the teachers as well, fitness is important at all ages.
Khun Chalerm is our black belt teacher, who has had many years experience teaching young children Taekwondo, and he does it superbly.
The children, in Kindergarten 1 and 2 enjoy the discipline and respond well, showing enjoyment and self control. They go through their paces each Wednesday, counting to ten in Korean, going through their warm-up exercises before getting onto the leg kicks, straight, circle, side and forward with growing adeptness and control. It really is a delight to watch them.
Sometime next term we will be putting on a display for parents and friends.
The children are encouraged to wear the proper suit, it enables them to move freely and without restrictions and looking the part is important to!
