Our History
We are fast approaching the 30 YEARS mark! Thirty years from the day Mary ann Chirathivat decided to open a kindergarten for her daughter Katie, because she just couldn't find that perfect place.
"We all want the best for our children and having had a poor experience myself as a young child, I was determined that Katie would enjoy every day, feel special and cared for, and learn in a stimulating, colourful and FUN way" With that goal in mind The International Pre-School Center (originally called Sathorn Nursery) came into being in August 1983."
Katie did indeed enjoy learning and has grown up, attended university in London and returned with a degree in BA Design from Goldsmiths College, University of London with an emphasis on Design for Children. Being a part of the Central Retail Corporation (Maryann is the wife of Suthichart Chirathivat the owner family) it was expected that Katie would take her place within the Central group of companies. However, she was felt that her future lay with helping Maryann to run IPC. Nothing else would give her the same sense of accomplishment as continuing to offer children what she herself had found at IPC. The mother and daughter team has been working together for the past ten years.
Katie adds, "My younger sister Genie went through our programme and so are my own daughter Ayla Marie and her two cousins. This is very much a family school and we love that it's small and personal.
We have a wonderful team of staff who work closely together to ensure the quality of education and the happiness of all our students."
At IPC we treat each child as if they were our own, only wanting the best for them and giving them the best opportunities to learn. Our children know how to sculpt, draw, paint, colour, act, sing, dance and so much more.
We run the school as a family choosing to be a small school for children 18 months to 5.5 years old. We love only 4 classes at IPC, making it the ideal homey environment our little learners need.
Since we are a small school all the staff know the children by name and the children are comfortable talking to all the teachers in the school not just their own class teachers. We have found our IPC programme to be very productive in producing out young children who are confident, inquisitive, dynamic and caring individuals.
The rewards of such a life spent with children are special and precious - IPC has provided quality early education to over six thousand children. We are very proud of our 100% success rate in our students being accepted to the school of their choice once they have graduated from IPC. This school certainly delivers on its promise, " IPC - Where learning is FUN! "
